In a rigorous blind tasting over several rounds, India's 'Indri whisky' has won the award of 'Best in Show, Double Gold' at the recently held 'Whiskies of the World Awards 2023'. Ever since the news broke, the Indian whiskey aficionados are celebrating this win. The award-winning whisky is brewed from six-row barley from Rajasthan and Yamuna River glacier water. It is aged in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, giving it a rich amber colour and sweet, currant-like smells. The whisky is brought out by the Piccadily distillery group The whiskey is manufactured by Piccadilly Industries in Haryana which was recently launched in 2021. Why is Best ? Tinned peaches, golden syrup, aromatic oak, and baking spice. Palate: Creamy and fruity, with pineapple, apricot yogurt, and lychee among nutmeg and toasted almonds.
